Hello, everybody.
We haven’t blogged in quite a while, so it’s nice to be able to catch up.
Just so you all know, we’ve now upgraded our Softaculous to 2.7 – the latest and most secure version of the script.
We hope you are enjoying the software – we’ve had some excellent feedback.
- Jack from RigRag
After almost a week of not having a working WHMPHP, it seems everything is now running smoothly with our brand new installation of the script. For more information on how to find the script, etc, please read our new article in our client area.
Here is a sneak preview of what the script now looks like, with VAST improvements.
Hope you enjoy the new script, and be sure to ask us if you have any questions on the new installation of WHMPHP.

Hello, everybody.
We would like to apologise for our recent downtime and server slowness, and would like to re-assure you that this isn’t a reflection of our overall services.
We’re currently working hard to fix these issues, and we’ll be able to have everything back to normal within the next couple of days.
- Jack
RigRag is now proud to announce that we’re now offering our web-hosting plans in three currencies - our default of USD, and now two extra currencies - GBP and CAD.
Many of you have been asking about offering our plans in other currencies and its now easier than ever to buy how you want to buy. When on the order page, select your currency and you’ll be taking to the billing cart with information on your currency and pricing.
It’s a fantastic new feature, and it opens up our hosting to countless countries.

We’ve finally taken the upgrade to softaculous premium, and have discontinued support for Fantastico. iHost installations are also back online.
Please check around our website as we’ve made a few new changes.
We’ve recently had many problems and concerns with Fantastico, and have experienced lots of problems concerning the script for a number of months. We’ve been debating the issue on whether to switch to a better auto-installer for months now, and we’ve finally came up with the conclusion that, for the sake of all involved, Fantastico needs to go.
Over the past few months, we’ve offered two installers. Both Fantastico and a free licensed version of Softaculous. And with the number of people using softaculous rather than Fantastico rising, we’ve decided to purchase a premium license to softaculous to allow a better experience for you.
Why we’re moving away from Fantastico
1. Outdated Scripts
2. No new updates
3. Little support from the company.
4. Very few security updates and patches.
5. Very slow to add new updates to scripts and inform of releases.
6. Starting to cause security problems to the server.
We, therefore, will be phasing out support to Fantastico users within the next week, and in turn updating your control panels with Softaculous PREMIUM.
Please note: We’re changing auto-installers for the sake of your, and our servers, good - not to save on money. We WON’T be using a free version of softaculous, instead paying for a license and offering the sevice to you free of charge on top of your hosting account.
Thanks
Hello, and happy new month. January was a fantastic month for us (check our newsletter if you’re a client and find out exactly why). February looks to be just as promising, and we’re really looking forward to it.
Now, VPS plans. We’ve decided to bring them back, and its a really great chance to take part in something totally new. We’ve got plans from just $10/month, and its truly fantastic deal.
Unlike before, we’ve focused ONLY on VPS plans and not Dedicated Servers, since VPS plans where most popular. This allowed us to spend time focusing on quality, price and performance, and we’re really pleased with the results.
Be sure to check out our VPS plans. They’re really great!

Hey, everybody. If you’ve been checking out our annoucements over at the client area, you won’t have managed to check over at our blog. As a few have asked, we’re not closing this blog, but we will be posting minor annoucements through our client area.
Just so you guys all know, WHMCS is going really well. We’ve recieved a few new clients, and it seems to be working well.
It seems everyone is really pleased with the swich-over to WHMCS, and, if you haven’t already, why not make a switch over to RigRag today?
Thanks for your continued support,
RigRag
Finally, after months and months of debating, planning and configuration, we’ve finally gone automatic. It’s took a real long time, but we’ve finally made the right move and ‘gone digital’.
This now means, when you’ve decided you want an account with us, you’ll be signed up for one automatically. No waiting around for us to manually configure every client. Just plain, simple speed. Why not order a plan today and get automatic set up?
Some of you guys noticed a few problems with Fantastico and found that it wasn’t working - but we’re pleased to announce that its back!
Thanks for waiting!

From everyone here at RigRag, we’d like to wish you a very happy new year. It’s been one hell of a journey for us these past few years, and without you here to support us, we wouldn’t have done it.
We hope 2010 is amazing for you - just like these past few years have been amazing for us and our company.
In other news - we’ve got something really exciting to tell you. We’ve just realized that we ACTUALLY founded in May 2007 - not 2008 (how we didn’t realize this I do not know!). This means we’ve actually been running for more than 2 years, now, and we’ll be celebrating our THIRD anniversary on May 22nd.
Another year is almost over - and another Christmas is upon us. We’d like to thank everyone for their support this year, and we’ll continue to go for another year and hopefully many more to come.
From everyone at RigRag, Merry Christmas!
Rosie, a senior member of our team, has unfortunately decided to leave RigRag due to personal problems affecting her working with RigRag and on the internet all together.
Rosie joined RigRag earlier this year when her webhosting company, Palmatics Webhosting, and ours, RigRag, merged together to form the ‘super-company’. Rosie has been a valued member of our team ever since, and we’ve loved working with her.
Unfortunately, however, she has decided to leave the team to concentrate on her personal life. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish Rosie all the best of luck and we want to thank her for all of the work she’s done for us.
- Jack and the RigRag Team

As you’ll have seen when you logged onto RigRag today, we’ve added a gorgeous new splash page welcoming Christmas to RigRag - and here it is. We’ve been looking forward to this time of the year for months, and its finally here - Christmas.
We’re offering a three dollar discount on ANY web-hosting plan when purchased in December, simply by you quoting ‘Christmas 2009’ when ordering your plan. It’s a really good deal, and it means you’ll be getting anual plans from as little as $1.00. How amazing?
Anyway.. we’re having a meeting with Santa now, so we best be off. Merry Christmas everybody.
